Our CSR Policy

At Hoogesteger, we take responsibility for our people, for nature, and for the supply chains in which we operate. Sustainability is not a separate theme, but an integral part of our daily decisions and way of working.

In 2024, we conducted a double materiality assessment. This helped us identify which ESG topics are most relevant to Hoogesteger and to our stakeholders. These outcomes define our priorities and form the foundation of our CSR policy.

Pillar 1 – Where people grow

We believe that a sustainable organisation starts with people who feel safe, healthy and valued. That is why we actively invest in our employees and in a positive working environment.

    This is what we do:

  • We ensure healthy and safe working conditions and continuously improve our processes.
  • We encourage development and growth through training opportunities and room to learn.
  • We promote diversity and inclusion, so everyone has equal opportunities.
  • We communicate openly and transparently, so employees feel heard.
  • In this way, we build an organisation together where everyone can grow and contribute.

Pillar 2 – Where nature thrives

Our products come directly from nature. That is why we work every day to reduce our ecological impact and to use natural resources more sustainably.

This is what we focus on:

  • We reduce our energy consumption and actively work on CO₂ reduction.
  • We use water responsibly in our production processes.
  • We reduce packaging and switch to more sustainable packaging solutions.
  • We limit residual waste and food waste by producing more efficiently.
  • With these steps, we work in harmony with nature and contribute to a future-proof food supply chain.

Pillar 3 – Where supply chains work

Our responsibility does not end at the factory gate. We also take responsibility for the origin of our products and the impact of our supply chain.

This is how we do it:

  • We embed our sustainability mission in policies and decision-making.
  • We source responsibly and pay close attention to human rights and environmental impact in countries of origin.
  • We work together with suppliers to reduce CO₂ emissions across the supply chain.
  • We increase transparency and traceability within our supply chains.
  • These pillars help us stay focused and make deliberate choices. We continue to measure our progress, improve where possible and share our results transparently. Step by step, we are working towards a sustainable Hoogesteger, where people grow, nature thrives and supply chains work.
